Watching for the Morning Candace D

WFTM#5 now being edited & heading to the printers!

July 27th, 2008

Dear friends, family, readers, and all who support WFTM in any and every way,

I have been working very hard to complete the 1st anniversary issue of Watching for the Morning!! Can you believe it has been a year already? I nearly cannot! How sweet of God to dream His dream in me and to give the grace and mercy to carry it on all year- but that should never come as a surprise. His faithfulness is always so amazing, and He always carries out to completion what He saw fit to begin.
On Friday, I spent 8 hours at my little computer desk trying to compile everything and put it together *after* days of working on it in “bits and pieces”. On Saturday, as I took it to the “editor’s” (my dear friend, Edee’s house) something had gone terribly wrong with burning the files to CD and I ended up making three trips back home before the files finally came up on her computer. (Because I had used an older program, I was also concerned that the place I am having the issues printed at may not be able to open the files either, which would mean I might have to start all over. And the thought of that along with beautiful green beans growing abundantly in the garden and needing to be picked and processed was quite overwhelming! Thank You, Lord, that You are in control and You are my HELP and PEACE!) When it did, we then had to download a program which seemed to take longer than usual. Finally, it came up and seems to be working except some of the font is messed up. I ended up getting home after 10 last night with no real resolve. Please pray that the printers’ will be able to open these files!! When the editing is complete, it will be taken to “press” and after our little assembly line packaging, addressing, and postaging, I pray to have them mailed out within a couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy this very special issue and all the goodies inside. I’m sure you will be blessed, challenged, and encouraged as you read. We have more articles from different writers this time which is very exciting.
I trust your summer is a blessed one and you are finding continued contentment in your Lord as you wait on Him to accomplish His perfect will in your life.

Love,
Candace

Do you Remember?

July 23rd, 2008

“I remember the first glance
I remember the first romance
I remember the first dance
When I fell in love…with You
When I fell in love…
I thought that I would never know love
And maybe I would never know touch
And then You came and awakened me
And You came, unlocking me
I’ve never known a Love like this
You showed the Truth behind the myth”

I heard the song a few weeks ago from a Christian singer. At first, I thought I had heard it before. It sounded like the purest of love songs from a really old, modest, wholesome romance movie (that I’m not sure ever existed), but I was captured by its sweetness. After finding that it is a very recent song and the singer was also the writer, I then thought maybe she had written it for her husband. I was so intrigued, I did a little research. I learned that the singer/song writer isn’t even married and she didn’t write this song for a future mate. She wrote it as a “love song to the Lamb”. Wow! No wonder it had such a sweet purity to it. It caused me to think back to the days when my love for Jesus was brand new and fresh, and the joy of my new found salvation in Him flowed out of me so freely that I wanted to tell everyone I saw about Him!
Sometimes, as we “age” in the Lord, we lose sight of the original joy, but that was never His plan. He longs to be fresh to us each day. Though He does not ever change, He also does not grow old or stale and if we will allow Him to transform our hearts, we’ll find He’s fresh and brand new every day! He has so much to speak to our hearts- love songs of His own. He has so much to show us, to teach us about Himself, and about the state of our hearts. But we must seek Him above everything else and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Do you remember the first glance? When your heart first swelled with the hope of salvation through Jesus’ blood alone? Do you remember when He opened your blinded eyes and you saw Him for Who He really was for the very first time? Do you remember when His True Love first captured your heart and you were completely overwhelmed that the God of the universe could possibly love you that deeply? The glimpse of that love brought us to repentance, because it’s purity exposed the filthiness of our sin for what it really was. If you can’t remember all of the details, ask Him to remind you today. Ask Him to take you on a spiritual “honeymoon”, opening your eyes to His great love towards you all over again.

“Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12

May you remember cleary today, that moment when you heard Him knocking on the door of your heart and you opened it, and betrothed yourself to Jesus, your Heavenly Bridegroom.
